Advanced materials company, Talga Resources Ltd (ASX: TLG or Talga), is pleased to advise that is has signed a Collaboration Agreement (“Agreement”) with Tata Steel UK Limited (“Tata”) to jointly explore opportunities across graphene supply, processing and development of graphene applications.

PEN Inc. (OTCQB:PENC) Develops Graphene-Based Product for Use in Medical Imaging

PEN Inc. (OTCQB: PENC) (“PEN” or “the Company”), a global leader in enhanced performance products enabled by nanotechnology to solve everyday problems, today announced the launch of a new graphene-based product for use in the production of nuclear pharmaceuticals used as diagnostic imaging biomarkers. Patients are given these pharmaceuticals when undergoing Positron Emission Tomography (PET) which is a molecular imaging system that provides clinicians detailed information about diseases such as cancer, neurological disorders and cardiovascular disease.

The new product is a thin carbon foil made of layers of graphene for use in cyclotron accelerators that produce nuclear pharmaceuticals. Developed at the Company’s Applied Nanotech Inc. subsidiary in Austin, Texas, the new graphene foils were part of a DOE Phase II SBIR effort to develop carbon foils for next generation ion beam accelerators. The graphene foils can serve as either stripper foils or extraction foils, both of which are integral to the operation of ion beam accelerators.

Graphene 3D Lab (TSX-V:GGG) Files Full Patent on Graphene Manufacturing Process

Graphene 3D Lab Inc. (TSX-V: GGG, OTCQB: GPHBF) (“Graphene 3D”) is pleased to announce the filing of a non-provisional patent pertaining to the preparation and separation of atomic layers of graphene. This technological breakthrough represents a new, energy efficient process to manufacture, sort and classify graphene nanoparticles resulting in the potential for large scale production of high grade graphene. This patent relates to graphene nanoplatelets (GNP). Specifically the patent covers a new, energy efficient, non chemically invasive, process that significantly lowers the cost of preparing and separating high quality, low atomic layers of GNP. Is Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) Actually Associated With Graphene?

Tesla Motors Graphene BatteryI have noticed that every few months there are new articles that mention “Tesla Motors” and “Graphene.” And yet by the end of these articles I am still confused as to what stake Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) truly has in the graphene industry…or rather what stake graphene currently has in Tesla’s success. Maybe I am not good at reading comprehension. But I also suspect that many of these articles are simply trying to grab our attention, especially those written by biased (not independent) graphene websites. All I knew is that Tesla might be using graphene (graphite?) in a battery, but I did not know a whole lot more.

In this article I describe what meaningful association (if any) that I found between Tesla Motors and graphene. Is Tesla Motors even a graphene stock?
