What is G+?
It is “the material of the future” to cycling products. It is a nano-technology material that will help produce faster, stronger, lighter, and more resistant wheels and tires.
What are the benefits of G+ in carbon wheel applications?
The addition of this nano-technology material results in a faster, stronger, more resilient carbon-composite material. Qurano and Race tubular wheels have graphene-enhanced full-carbon rims that far outperform today’s best. This is the future of race wheels.
Graphene-enhanced composites have 10~30% improved material properties. Tests carried out by Vittoria R&D engineers, confirmed by external laboratories, found that introducing graphene into the rim’s carbon-fiber matrix has a great positive impact:
G+ reduces temperature build-up
G+ increases spoke-hole strength measurably
G+ significantly improves lateral stiffness
G+ has strong potential for a future product weight reduction

On Wednesday during the Interbike Press Preview, the Vittoria team enthusiastically shared the news about the new graphene tires. Some of the major benefits of the graphene tire is reduced rolling resistance and weight, with an improvement in durability. The reported reduction in rolling resistance is 32 seconds over 50km along with a marked improvement in grip.
The Mezcal graphene tire model is designed for dry summer like conditions, and will allow for aggressive cornering and high speeds. Vittoria’s four-compound construction is at play, with both centre and shoulder treads hard on the inside and soft on the outside, keeping knobs where they’re meant to be but allowing for good grip.
The Morsa model is similar in composition however is more suited for trail like conditions. Knobs are ramped on their leading edges which results in a reduced rolling resistance while braking edges retain sharpness.
Morsa features a red APF (anti-pinch-flat layer) at the bead which is designed to protect the rim from impacts and the tire from punctures. Pricing per tire is surprisingly economical at about $70 USD each. This is an excellent example of graphene technology available in consumer applications for an affordable price.
Vittoria Tires currently employs their G+ graphene tire technology across 9 products.
