Graphene 3D Lab has recently launched commercial sales of its Conductive Graphene Filament for 3D printing.
For the first time, graphene-enhanced filaments are being made available to the public, opening the door to create 3D printed items that were never before possible. From 3D printing hobbyists to large-scale industry, new products can now be developed, limited only by the imagination of the design engineers. It is anticipated that conductive traces and sensors will likely be the first 3D printed materials created with these newly available filaments. The filaments are also ideal for EMI/RF shielding, which will allow 3D printed conductive devices to block electromagnetic fields and radio frequency electromagnetic radiation from the items they print.
The filament, a significant development in the 3D printing industry, incorporates highly conductive proprietary nano-carbon materials to enhance the properties of PLA, a widely used thermoplastic material for 3D printing; therefore, the filament is compatible with most commercially available 3D printers. The company claims the filament offers superior strength to ABS and PLA filaments, but no test results have been provided at this time.
A complete product description of the new filament is available on the Company’s e-commerce website. The filament is currently available for sale in a 1.75mm diameter and sold on 200gm spools. The filament has a volume resistivity of 1 Ohm-cm with test results of resistivity over one meter of a 1.74mm filament of 4 Ohms. 3D print enthusiasts will now be able to print wiring for their projects simultaneously with the print process. The company expects strong interest and expects the 3D print community to push the boundaries of what can be 3D printed as well as provide the company with feedback for new functional filament releases in the future. The company currently has several other functional filaments in development yet to be released.
Graphene 3D’s conductive filament is available for purchase on the Company’s recently launched e-commerce site, Black Magic 3D (www.blackmagic3d.com). Currently, the Black Magic 3D website is the only known global source for graphene-enhanced filaments available for purchase by the public.
